Peoria City Council green-lit a residential urban-style infill project near the P83 Entertainment District for up to 32 homes on about 6.55 acres.

The development has been dubbed Bella Brisa, located at 75th Avenue and Running Horse Lane, near the Peoria Sports Plex, a multi-sport indoor arena and the new home of Arizona Inline Hockey.

The proposal includes two-story, single family residences at just under 5 dwelling units per acre. Each home is to have a minimum lot size of 3,500 square feet and has a 2-car garage and one to two parking spaces.

The council unanimously approved a request from Bela Flor Communities to amend the General Plan Land Use Map from the current land use designation of Low Density Residential (2-5 du/ac, target of 3 du/ac) to Medium Density Residential (5-8 du/ac, target of 6 du/ac), as well as a request to rezone the land from Central Commercial (C-3) to Planned Area Development.
