Florence Reminder
The town continues to meet goals laid out last year in its five-year Strategic Plan, Ben Bitter, assistant to the town manager, reported to the Town Council on Aug. 20:
Under the Strategic Plan’s “Community Vitality” priority, the town’s social media followers have increased by 19 percent in the last six months; the parks, trails and open space master plan process has begun; town staff are developing a “request for proposals” for a new redevelopment plan; and town-sponsored events such as Fourth of July, Christmas on Main Street, Halloween, movies at the pool and Historic Florence Home Tour have grown.
