This Thursday, Sept 20th at 9:00 a.m., the Pinal County Planning and Zoning Commission will be asked to approve a zoning request. The request, being made by Blake McKee et al, is asking to rezone an area in San Tan Valley currently zoned as General Rural (GR) to General Commercial Zoning District (C-3) in order to build a commercial retail center on 3.6+ acres.  Some residents however are not pleased.

The land is located approximately 670 feet west of the intersection of Valley View Rd and Hunt Highway on the south side in San Tan Valley (south & east of the southeast corner of Ellsworth Road and Hunt Hwy.)

The commercial rezoning request, doesn’t seem to be what has residents in that area up in arms.  Its the Special Use Permit that has also been submitted in order to operate a 2,000 SF Medical Marijuana Dispensary on that property.
