The West Valley already is a hotbed for economic development with a qualified workforce and cheap land, and now the South Mountain Loop 202 freeway is poised to become a major commerce corridor to the area.
The freeway is expected to create thousands of jobs during the next decade, said Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.
The South Mountain freeway is Arizona’s largest transportation project currently under construction. It runs 22 miles and connects Interstate 10 in the West Valley to Loop 202 in the East Valley. In addition to easing commuter traffic, the corridor will house a variety of businesses, such as advanced manufacturing, distribution and logistics companies and technology projects, along the freeway.
