Smaller homes approved for Casa Grande subdivisions; neighbors voice concerns

New homes will be coming to several neighborhoods in Casa Grande, but the decision to approve them wasn’t without question Thursday night.

Wade Jurney Homes, a North Carolina home builder that is making its first push into the Arizona market, has purchased 20 lots in the Monterra Village subdivision and 31 lots in the Tamaron subdivision and plans to build homes to order in both neighborhoods.

But some Monterra Village neighbors expressed concerns to the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission over smaller houses and a vastly different style of architecture over those that currently are there. Existing homes were built between 2005 and 2007.
