In the third installment of a series on campaign spending by political action committees, the Mirror’s Jerod MacDonald-Evoy takes a look at which candidates for the Arizona House of Representatives are raking in PAC money, and which PACs are writing the checks.
The PAC run by Pinnacle West, the parent company of utility giant Arizona Public Service, is a frequent sight in campaign finance reports, as is Cox Communications. Salt River Project, UnitedHealth Group, the Arizona Association of Realtors and the Professional Firefighters of Arizona write a lot of checks from their PACs as well.
All told, state-level candidates in Arizona have reported receiving more than $2.6 million so far in the 2018 election.
