Why should Arizona voters boot judges for doing their jobs?

As Arizona voters scan through their ballots on Nov. 6, they’ll see the big names on side one. There, citizens choose their governor as well as their federal and state senators and representatives.

When you flip over the ballot, there’s a list of 51 justices and judges. Thanks to the Arizona constitution, voters can choose whether they want to retain these jurists or send them packing.

Most busy Arizonans aren’t attorneys or avid court watchers, so they often say yes to all of them or just leave those fields blank. But a small group of bitter activists want to change all that.
