SB Communities wants to build apartments in San Tan Valley and the corner they have selected is not sitting well with local residents.
Located in San Tan Valley, on the northwest corner of Combs Road and Encanterra Blvd, plans are to build a 276-unit apartment home community, called The Sterling. The property would border Pecan Creek South, located across from Encanterra.
“This would have a negative effect on traffic, require more hookups for Johnson Utilities and take away land already zoned to help build the local economy,” said local resident Jon Depka. “Others in my neighborhood also have a fear of a higher crime rate and lower home values.”
A neighborhood meeting is being held November 15th, 2018 at 7pm at Combs Traditional Academy to discuss the developers desire. The developers requests must be approved by the Pinal County Planning & Zoning Commission as well as the Board of Supervisors before development could begin.
