Leasing company says rendering includes ‘made-up’ names as placeholders

Nikola Motor Co. may be working up to having a big presence in the Valley and state, but it is not opening in Scottsdale Quarter.
A building rendering next to a massive construction expansion at the mixed use project at Greenway Parkway and Scottsdale Road features the word “Nikola” on the side of the building. However, the maker of a hydrogen-electric hybrid semi-truck isn’t opening a shop there.
“It is definitely not us,” said Nikola spokeswoman Colleen Robar in an email.
Brad Garvey, vice president at Washington Prime Group Inc. (NYSE: WPG) who handles the site’s permanent leasing, said the rendering features “made-up names” that are placeholders.
