Online housing transactions on the upswing in metro Phoenix

More homeowners tapping online markets to pick up, sell off property

Buying and selling homes online is heating up in the Phoenix metro area, thanks in large part to two of the biggest “iBuyers” in the business.

According to a report issued by Phoenix-based Maps & Facts Unlimited Inc., the two largest online home buying sites in Maricopa County in 2017 were San Francisco-based Opendoor and Gilbert-based Offerpad.

Together, they had more than 1,700 buy-and-sell transactions, with 450 of those identified as paired sales, or re-sales of the same house, said Tom Carson, GIS consultant at Phoenix-based Maps & Facts.
