Shea Homes Arizona is joining hands with individuals and businesses around the Valley on the road to raising $50,000 for Light the Night, which supports the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as it researches blood cancer treatments.
The Scottsdale-based homebuilder encourages individuals and companies to register, raise funds and walk at the Light the Night event 5 p.m. Nov. 17 at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
The gathering will invite survivors to hold white lanterns, those remembering a loved one to hold yellow, and supporters of the cause to carry red. Each color – white, yellow, and red – is a motif echoing the blood cells and bone marrow that are affected by these diseases.
“All of us here at Shea Homes hold this cause close to our hearts, with members of the Shea family and our own families being directly impacted by blood cancer,” said Ken Peterson, vice president of sales and marketing for Shea Homes Arizona. “Our partners, homeowners, and friends are already stepping up to support this lifesaving cause.”
