Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey will appoint GOP Rep. Martha McSally to the Senate seat being vacated by GOP Sen. Jon Kyl, Ducey announced Tuesday.
“With her experience and long record of service, Martha is uniquely qualified to step up and fight for Arizona’s interests in the U.S. Senate,” Ducey said in a statement Tuesday.
Kyl was picked by Ducey to fill the seat of the late Sen. John McCain, but announced last week he planned to resign at the end of the year.
McSally who lost the race for Arizona’s other Senate seat to Democrat Kirsten Sinema.
