Phoenix denies permit for autism school

About a year ago, Bill and Vicki Potolicchio found the perfect school for their 16-year-old son Alex in north Phoenix.

Alex has autism and the Potolicchios had tried many schools in the past. They didn’t find the right fit until Beyond Autism, a small private school based out of Scottsdale Worship Center at Cactus Road and 65th Place.

“He looks forward to going to school every single day,” Bill said.

When they toured the school last year, the staff told the Potolicchios that they planned to move the school to a house across the street that Scottsdale Worship Center had acquired from a church member in 1999.
