Much of the news coming out of Peoria in 2018 centered around growth and its effects, as well as planning for the future.

Expect more of the same in 2019.

The city saw dozens of new permits come in front of staff, the planning and zoning commission, and finally, the city council.

Permits ranged from multi-family and infill projects, to single-family and commercial projects. Add to that, the city is targeting a collection of state trust land parcels near Loop 303, which are likely to be up for auction in 2019, and expected to open more economic development opportunities.

Definitely keep an eye on the Happy Valley corridor from 83rd Avenue up to Lake Pleasant Parkway.
