In 2018 Eloy set out to remake itself in time for 2019.
This includes a new City Hall, a new city logo and a new attitude.
With that in mind, here are the top stories in Eloy as selected by the Eloy Enterprise staff:
Construction finally began in the summer after a spring groundbreaking on Eloy’s new City Hall, which had been discussed and planned for the last couple of years.
“I’m very happy that we decided to do this facility,” Mayor Joel Belloc said during a tour of the construction site in November. “I think it’s going to enhance this whole area. I was involved with some of the layouts, and so far it’s coming through the way we envisioned it.”
Also shown during the tour was the finance building, community development area and an up-close view of the entrance facade with donated saguaro cactuses. City Hall will also feature a community room for community members to rent for small gatherings and parties.
City officials expect the project to be completed by March, with a grand opening slated for April.
