[OPINION] Why the Suns, Phoenix arena deal is good for the Valley

As the founder of Plaza Cos., I have spent my business career reviewing, studying and executing business deals. I have also spent my career involved in philanthropy and support of critical community needs. My analysis of the proposal to renovate Talking Stick Resort Arena is it is a fine business deal for the city and an opportunity to strengthen the health and well-being of all of our residents.

Talking Stick Resort Arena is nearly 30 years old, and like any building of that age, its infrastructure has deteriorated and the building needs improvements. The city, as the landlord since 1989, devised a funding source at that time so it would be certain it had the resources for needed repairs and renovations to the arena.
