Smitty’s property owner fights wrecking ball in Peoria

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge has declined a request by the owner of a former Smitty’s in Peoria to delay a city-ordered demolition, according to city officials.

The judge is still considering other claims from Owner Grand Holdings LLC, however the judge ordered the owner to pull the demolition permit by the city’s deadline, Jan. 17.

Spokesman Tim Eiden said Grand Holdings had not pulled the permit by the deadline.
