Businesses show support for Talking Stick renovation deal. “Business owners from across the Valley came to Majerle’s Sports Grill in downtown Phoenix to voice strong support Friday evening for the city of Phoenix’s plan to renovate Talking Stick Resort Arena.” Downtown Devil reports on the “forum, organized by Phoenix Community Alliance,” and “a crowd of dozens who were nearly universal in their support for the plan.” http://bit.ly/2sqFZXW

Homebuilders less optimistic going into 2019. That’s the overall takeaway from a panel of top homebuilding executives — Steven J. Hilton (Meritage Homes), Alan Jones (Lennar Homes),  Michael “Frenchy” IlesCremieux (Richmond American Homes), Michael Jesberger, (TerraWest Communities), and Reed Porter (New Village Homes) — who spoke before a crowd of 900 industry insiders on Friday at the 10th Annual Belfiore Real Estate Consulting AZ DealMakers conference. Planning Commission offers municipal blessing for Safari Old Town development. So far, so good for a “five-story multi-family residential development” in the works for a “2-acre site at 4735 N. Scottsdale,” after city planners “recommend[ed] a zoning amendment” for the project. Scottsdale Independent has details and renderings, including one showing “how the development would be used by human beings,” you know, as opposed to how it might be used by giraffes or something. Andersen’s $105M Goodyear facility will bring more than 400 jobs. <— And that’s just the first phase! The window and door manufacturer “anticipates a potential total investment of at least $200 million through a future expansion of the campus.” Gov.
