Although the average price of houses continued to rise throughout 2018, the number of houses sold throughout the year was essentially the same as in 2017.
But while the total number of sales for 2018 remained steady, only dropping about 1 percent according to Stephen Brighton with Century 21 Realty, the number of sales dropped throughout the year.
In the fourth quarter, for example, the number of houses sold was down 10 percent from the year prior with 265 single family homes sold.
And that drop was even more significant when looking at just December. By the end of that month sales were 26 percent lower than in 2017 with only 69 single family homes sold.
