In Maricopa, it’s all about recovery from the real estate crash

When Christian Price was first running for mayor of Maricopa in 2012, the city was still struggling from the effects of the Great Recession.

The housing market had crashed a few years earlier and the city was one of the hardest hit areas in the country.

At the time his campaign manager asked why he was running for mayor when everyone in the city wanted to leave.

“We have challenges, but we have great things to accomplish,” Price responded. “From that point on, my journey was — how do we make Maricopa special? It was already special, how do we make it more special.”

Since then, Price has been re-elected in 2016 and has been a strong advocate of networking and establishing relationships.
