The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed Jack Sellers to the open supervisor position representing the East Valley.
On Feb. 1, Maricopa County Supervisor Denny Barney resigned to take over as the full-time East Valley Partnership CEO and president.
Sellers will take over Barney’s role, serving until the term expires in 2020.
He is the chairman of the Arizona State Transportation Board and a former Chandler city councilman.
“One of the pressing issues for our county over the next few years will be the intelligent extension of our Prop 400 transportation funding mechanism to Prop 500. With my involvement, contacts and knowledge, I hope you agree that I am the best candidate to ensure that we have a viable plan for our future and can successfully market that plan to the voters,” Sellers said in his interest letter.
