Hotel changes hands two years after multimillion-dollar renovation

The Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort in Phoenix has sold for $51.35 million according to Maricopa County records.

The 563-room Hilton (NYSE: HLT)-branded resort at 7677 N. 16th St. in Phoenix includes all-suite accommodations, a four-acre waterpark with a lazy river, a full-service spa and fitness center, tennis courts, three on-site restaurants and 48,000 square feet of meeting space.

The new owner is Fortress Investment Group LLC, a New York-based real estate investment company. Fortress is a subsidiary of SoftBank Group, a Japanese multinational holding conglomerate. Fortress officials did not respond to a request for comment or their plans for the 43-year-old hotel.
