Coolidge council ponders building new $5 million Aquatic Center

Following a brief study session, members of the Coolidge City Council are seeking more information regarding a potential $5 million aquatic center before deciding to bring the issue before voters in November.

Although no concrete plans were presented to the council during the study session, staff members indicated the new center would likely still be housed at the same location where the city pool is now — on property belonging to the Coolidge Unified School District.

However, the facility would be expanded into the area that once made up the old tennis courts on the Coolidge High School property, which currently functions as a make-shift parking lot for the pool.
