The Phoenix area continues to rank as one of the hottest data center markets.
The region maintained its ranking as the second most active data center market with new construction in the country, according to real estate firm CBRE’s Data Center Trends Report.
The report said for the second half of 2018 that Phoenix recorded a record level of 41.6 megawatts of net absorption, only behind the 175.5 megawatts in northern Virginia.
Phoenix is seeing the highest demand for land acquisitions for future data center development than it ever has before, said Mark Krison, a CBRE senior vice president.
