Corrections & Clarifications: A previous version of this article incorrectly identified the magazine that released the list.
Arizona State University is fond of pointing out its place atop U.S. News and World Report‘s list of most innovative schools in the nation.
Now it has another magazine list to crow about: ASU President Michael Crow appears on the latest Fortune magazine’s list of the world’s 50 greatest leaders who “are transforming the world and inspiring others to do the same.”
Crow checked in at No. 44, just behind Land O’Lakes butter CEO Beth Ford, who is the first openly gay woman to lead a Fortune 500 company, and just ahead of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur from India who has pioneered improvements in hygiene for third world countries.
