The Arizona Sports and Entertainment Commission has filed a lawsuit against the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl, claiming the company running the game is in breach of contract.
The lawsuit filed April 25 in Arizona Superior Court in Pima County alleges TD4 Tucson, which does business as Nova Homes Loans Arizona Bowl, failed to pay the ASEC $100,000 for buying out its agreement between the two organizations.
Phoenix Business Journalreached out to the executive director and leaders at the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl for comment on the lawsuit and has not yet heard back.
The Arizona Bowl has been played the past four years in Tucson at Arizona Stadium on the University of Arizona campus. It was founded in 2015 by the ASEC, Alan Young, Kemp Ellis, Nikki Balich, Mark Irvin, Ali Farhang, Fletcher McCusker, the Mountain West Conference and media company Campus Insiders. The games were played between teams from the Mountain West and Sun Belt conferences.
