The city’s new Community Recreation Center is just 12 days from its grand opening and already the new $18.2 million center is being greeted with rave reviews.
Aaron Walter, the city’s recreation superintendent, said the center has had a few soft openings in recent weeks, including for yoga classes and the city league basketball tournament. He said everyone has walked away in amazement.
“I can’t tell you how many people have made the comment that (they can’t believe) this is in Casa Grande,” Walter said. “I have probably heard that comment 10-plus times in three different groups that have come in and used the facilities through soft openings.”
