Planning and Zoning sends Canyon del Rio on to Flagstaff City Council

By Adrian Skabelund | Arizona Daily Sun

The Planning and Zoning commission approved the rezoning of 83 acres of land at the intersection of Butler Avenue and South Fourth Street, forwarding it on to the Flagstaff City Council for final approval.

The rezoning is part of a 263-acre development called Canyon del Rio and is being worked on by the local developer Capstone Homes. Capstone is working to prepare the land for development on behalf of the land owners and requested the northernmost section of the property be changed to accommodate commercial and apartment buildings.

The land is currently zoned for light industrial uses as well as research and development.
