The Tempe City Council has pared down 49 applicants for a vacant city council seat to three finalists, the city announced on Friday afternoon.
The finalists are:
Don Cassano
Arlene Chin
Shereen Lerner
The finalists were chosen from among 49 applicants. City officials reviewed the large pool of applicants during an executive session on Thursday.
The vacancy was created by the ouster of Councilman Kolby Granville.
The City Council removed Granville from office April 12 for violating the city’s code-of-conduct-policy after he was accused of providing minors with alcohol and making unwanted sexual advances toward two women.
