Dunn fills seat of retired Leone in Peoria’s Pine District

The Peoria City Council appointed Planning and Zoning Commissioner Denette Dunn to replace former councilman Carlo Leone, who resigned due to health reasons, April 16.

Ms. Dunn’s term will end later this year, after a permanent replacement is determined through a special election and a runoff if necessary.

Ms. Dunn ran against Mr. Leone for the Pine District council seat last Aug. 28, but lost with about 34 percent of the vote, compared with  Mr. Leone’s 55 percent.
