Las Vegas is known to some as Sin City, but to the Eloy City Council and city staff, it is now known as Opportunity City.
Last week Mayor Joel Belloc, Vice Mayor Micah Powell, Councilman Andrew Rodriguez and Economic Development Specialist Jeff Fairman tackled the Las Vegas Convention Center at full speed.
From May 19-22, the convention center housed the RECon event of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), which is the largest gathering of retail real estate professionals.
“It’s basically shopping center companies that are looking to get into cities,” Rodriguez said to his fellow council members during Tuesday’s council meeting. “We went out there just to see what we could do and what we needed to do for the future of Eloy.”
