A former administrator of Thunderbird Irrigation Water District No. 2 has been indicted for using public funds on personal expenses.

Suzanne Perkins, 56, of Maricopa was indicted earlier this year on nine counts of fraud, theft and forgery after auditors discovered more than $275,000 in district funds had been misappropriated.

According to a report released by the Arizona Auditor General’s Office, Perkins allegedly issued hundreds of district warrants between 2006 and 2012 and used the funds on personal items like clothing, groceries, electronics, beauty products and home furnishings.
