An Arizona electric utility has stepped in to take over TransCanada Corporation’s Coolidge Generating Station to maintain its stake in the power generated by the facility.
Salt River Project is in the process of closing on a $465 million deal to purchase the power plant on Randolph Road.
TransCanada announced plans to sell the generating station in December, divulging that it had entered into a sales agreement with SWG Coolidge Holdings, a subsidiary of the Colorado-based Southwest Generation Operating Co. LLC.
