What did you do yesterday?

Chris Grogan

Chris Grogan is a busy guy. From presentations on the mammoth Douglas Ranch development in the West Valley to spending time with his wife, Krystal and 11-month-old son Graham, a partner at El Dorado Holdings, gave us a rundown of his day. Grogan has been with El Dorado since 2011 after a tenure at CBRE. He also hopes to soon be able to try the Cajun food truck outside of the real estate development firm’s Scottsdale offices.

(This is the first of a ‘day in the life’ feature we will run weekly.)

A Day in the Life: Chris Grogan

5:45 a.m.: Alarm – ahhhhh.

6:00 a.m.:  Got Graham (11 months) from his crib and danced in the living room.

6:15 a.m.:  Handed Graham to Krystal and got on the road for Buckeye.

7:45 a.m.: Crushed a presentation to Buckeye Valley Chamber of Commerce regarding Douglas Ranch/Trillium.

9:30 a.m.: Driving back to Scottdale, 2 investor phone calls, 1 angry call to a slacking HOA vendor (I am the treasure of my home’s HOA).

10:30 a.m.: Title/Survey Review on Queen Creek escrow.

11:15 a.m.: Finally got my morning El Dorado brew with hazelnut creamer and purchased book case from co-worker Stephanie Morrison, she had offers from online, BUT – didn’t want strangers to come to her house.

11:30 a.m.: Tried to walk out for lunch but got called back in to help with an investor package (PDF printing issue).

1:30 p.m.: Finally walked out to check out the Bayou food truck at Gainey Corporate Center II just to find out they shut down already.

1:35 p.m.: Ate the last wrap in the refrigerator left over from a Monday lunch meeting.

2:00 p.m.: Quick update call with Mike Ingram on Satellite phone from Alaska.

2:05 p.m: Missouri Falls review with CBRE regarding the new plans for a 13,000 SF spec suite on the fourth floor and final approval of counter LOI for 2nd floor 7,000 SF vacancy spec suit.

2:30 p.m.: Scoured Maricopa County Assessor GIS Mapping page for potential development sites and current ownerships.

3:30 p.m.: Development meeting with Brad Hinton to review Spur Cross plans.

4:30 p.m.: Site reviews with Jim Kenny.

4:45 p.m.: LOI Submitted on a site through Lee & Associates.

4:50 p.m.: Tweaked Douglas Ranch/Trillium presentation.

5:00 p.m.: Call to Land Advisors to figure out where my comments were on LOI submitted last Thursday.

5:15 p.m.: Call to Nathan & Associates to make sure there aren’t any deals El Dorado should be working on.

5:30 p.m.: E-mailed Buckeye Valley Chamber of Commerce members answers to some of their questions and a copy of the presentation.

6:00 p.m.: Drive home to see wifey and kiddo, 3 calls along the way – mechanics shop, papa Grogan, and a college roommate who apparently texted me earlier in the day asking if I could get him a  16th sky box for two days to next year’s Phoenix Open (SMH).

6:30 p.m.: Arrive at home, quick dinner with the fam and straight to bath time!

7:15 p.m: Read books with Graham, always ending with Night Night Arizona, A sleepy bedtime rhyme.

7:45 p.m.: Couch time the catch up with the wife and then catch a Netflix or two (right now either Selling Sunset or Schitt$ Creek).

9:55 p.m.: Check on Graham, he is dabbing like a champ, but out cold!

10:00 p.m.: Lights out Arizona 🙂
