Arizona ranks high in residential solar in national report

As the U.S. solar market saw its best first quarter in history, Arizona remained near the top for residential solar capacity.

Arizona had 52.83 total megawatts of solar capacity installed during the first quarter, and ranked third best in the country for residential solar with 41.9 megawatts, according to the latest U.S. Solar Market Insight report from the Solar Energy Industries Association and Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables.

A year ago, Arizona ranked seventh best with 67 total megawatts, according to the SEIA report.

Sean Gallagher, vice president of state affairs for SEIA, said despite some issues, the state does has some positives.
