Tom and Lynn Smith, who previously indicated their wishes to save the Francisco Cuen House, officially took ownership of it Monday with a bid of $21.

Even before their purchase of the historic building at 11th and Main streets was official, the Smiths provided a stability report on it to the town and met with the State Historic Preservation Office, Deputy Town Manager/Town Clerk Lisa Garcia told the Town Council.

Councilwoman Michelle Cordes asked Tom Smith if he has a use in mind for the restored building. Smith said two or three people have expressed an interest in renting it. Cordes asked town staff if the Smiths can now resell the building.
