Glendale looks at farm annexations, 2.6 million-square-foot development off Loop 303

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

Glendale is looking at annexing 161 acres of farmland west of the Loop 303 from Glendale Avenue to Bethany Home Road.

The ‘Cotton Properties’ would be brought into Glendale’s city limits with industrial and commercial developments proposed for the farm sites.

Glendale officials estimate new development could accommodate 2 million square feet of light industrial space, 380,000 square feet of retail and hotels and 235,000 square feet of offices. All that could bring as many 4,600 jobs, according to city documents.

The Glendale City Council will be briefed on the proposed land annexation on June 11. The city will also be considering rezoning the agricultural land for commercial and industrial development.
