Goodyear Ballpark is slated to get a new high-tech LED scoreboard. The city is allocating $975,000 for the new digital board from Daktronics Inc. The South Dakota-based company is one of the leading scoreboard and video board makers in the world.

The current scoreboard at the Goodyear Ballpark is 10 years old. The city owned park is home to the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds for spring training. The ballpark is also a linchpin to Goodyear’s economic development efforts.

The city budget has a $1.069 million allocation for new video board at the ballpark. The city will use another $94,000 for additional video equipment at the stadium.

Daktronics is also the video board provider at Gila River Arena, State Farm Stadium and Chase Field.
