Phoenix makes it illegal to feed pigeons

The Phoenix City Council has approved an ordinance making it illegal to feed pigeons.

The city ordinance makes it a misdemeanor to feed pigeons with violators potentially facing fines of between $150 and $2,500.

City officials said attracting pigeons can result in damage to buildings and vehicles.

Other cities in North America and Europe have also looked at or restricted feeding pigeons.
