Scottsdale council approves ballpark measures

The Scottsdale City Council approved measure yesterday related to renovations at Scottsdale Stadium.

The Scottsdale council approved a $16.6 million contract payment to Hunt Construction for design-build services for the first phase of renovations at the Old Town stadium.

The ballpark is the Spring Training home of the San Francisco Giants.

The council also allocated $22.2 million budget transfers for the stadium renovations.

Scottsdale Stadium is going through a first $50.6 renovation phase. The city, Giants and Scottsdale Charros are improving event space and upgrading other parts of the ballpark.
