Casa Grande council introduced to luxury apartment style

Luxury apartment living could be coming to Casa Grande in the near future.

City Council members were given a presentation by city planner James Gagliardi during a study session before Monday’s regular meeting in which he showed a concept where detached apartments are built with rental costs of over $1,000 a month.

“It seems to be the newest trend in multifamily living in that they are not apartments that you and I know where you have people living above and below you and beside you,” Gagliardi said. “A lot of them are in stand-alone homes that everyone is renting the space instead of owning it and everything else is maintained like an apartment complex would be.”

Gagliardi said there are no current plans or proposals for any such projects heading to the Planning and Zoning Commission, but he added they could be coming soon.
