An Eloy farmer has announced she will again be running for Congress.

Tiffany Shedd, a Republican, announced her intention to seek the Congressional District 1 seat currently held by Rep. Tom O’Halleran, D-Sedona.

“Rural Arizona needs a voice now more than ever,” Shedd said. “I want our communities to be heard.”

Shedd cited policies embraced by progressive congressional members such as “socialism, open borders and the Green New Deal” as being detrimental to the country and said, “It’s urgent to get into the fight.”

O’Halleran’s voting history shows he doesn’t represent rural Arizona, Shedd said, claiming his policies can’t get rural Arizona where it needs to be.
