Roger Clyne is in the midst of celebrating 20 years at the helm of one of Arizona’s most beloved bands, the Peacemakers. 

He and his bandmates are about to be inducted to the Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame. 

And when he looks back on what motivated him to join his first band, a decision made in high school that continues to define him, the local legend says he kind of wishes he could come up with a better reason.

“But it was to meet girls,” he says, with a laugh. “I was painfully shy and there was a band that needed a singer.”
