The City of Peoria is poised to annex 1,120 acres of State Trust Land across 10 different parcels.
The State Selection Board, which includes Gov. Doug Ducey and State Treasurer Kimberly Yee, were briefed on the planned Peoria annexations this week.
State Trust Land slated to be annexed by Peoria includes 287 acres near the Loop 303 and 119th Avenue, 189 acres near Rose Garden Lane and 107th Avenue, 176 acres near Loop 303 115th Avenue and 174 acres at 99th Avenue and Dixileta Drive.
The Selection Board was also briefed on proposed 1,282 acres State Trust Land annexation by the city of Yuma for land near the Yuma Proving Grounds. The Yuma annexation would also help the city extend services to a private community that also wants to be annexed, according to state documents.
