In 2015, Gov. Doug Ducey appointed Lisa Atkins as commissioner of the Arizona State Land Department.

As the department’s 21st commissioner, Atkins is responsible for managing 9.2 million acres of land throughout Arizona and selling it at the highest value for 13 beneficiaries, mostly K-12 public education.

The Business Journal got a chance to ask Atkins about her plans for the future.
