Peoria residents voted in the city’s interim council member Tuesday to replace a longtime politician who died this summer.
Denette Dunn, the only candidate on the ballot, won 88% over write-in candidates with a total of just over 2,100 votes.
“Over the course of several months I asked hundreds of residents of the Pine District if they gave me this opportunity, I would focus on big issues like transportation and economic development … and today my community said yes to that,” she said in a Facebook post.
