The cries of help from Sedona and other Arizona cities seem to have been heard.
Gov. Doug Ducey on Thursday said lawmakers will revisit restrictions on short-term rentals during the upcoming legislative session, an apparent change in his position.
Ducey’s comments came three months and one day after he signed a new law narrowly aimed at cracking down on so-called “party houses” rented out through websites such as Airbnb and VRBO.
That law takes effect Tuesday but it is unlikely to assuage the concerns of small towns, like Sedona, and big-city neighborhoods, like downtown Phoenix, that are facing a housing crunch amid the proliferation of short-term rentals.
