East Valley cities look to cooperate to address homelessness

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

East Valley cities are looking to collaborate more to deal with homelessness.

The Mesa City Council is slated to vote Aug. 19 on a resolution to cooperate and share more information with neighboring cities and regional groups address homelessness.

The effort will involve Tempe and other East Valley jurisdictions as well as representatives from Maricopa County and the Maricopa Association of Governments.

The Phoenix region, like other Western cities, has seen an increase in homeless populations including those not in shelters.
