Don Shooter, a former Arizona lawmaker best known for getting expelled from office in 2018 following an investigation into sexual harassment allegations, is in the hospital on life support.
Shooter, a Yuma Republican, checked into a hospital in Phoenix at the end of last week. His condition rapidly worsened and he was moved to intensive care before he was put on life support Tuesday evening, according to Gretchen Jacobs, a prominent lobbyist and friend of Shooter.
Jacobs said Shooter had emergency surgery Wednesday and that his current condition may be a complication from a surgery he had several weeks ago.
“I don’t know if he’s going to regain consciousness,” she said.
