Pinal County’s primary tax rate cut 4 cents

By Mark Cowling | Casa Grande Dispatch

Pinal County still has Arizona’s fourth-highest primary property tax rate, but the Board of Supervisors expressed confidence in better years ahead as they vowed to keep cutting it.

The county’s new primary property tax rate is $3.79 per $100 of net assessed valuation, a decrease of four cents from last year. Despite the lower rate, the county expects to collect $5 million more in taxes due to rising assessed values. Total tax levy in the 2019-20 fiscal year is forecast to be $95,555,453.

The supervisors’ goal is to decrease the rate again next year to $3.75.
